F.A.Q. - useful reading for all members!

This journal serves to potential, new or even some senior members to get more useful information about our club.


GENERAL AND JOINING

Who is this club for?
Like our group description says, this is a club organizing ACEO exchanges for most talented animal artists from all over the world!

What are these ACEOs/ATCs?
ACEO (Art Cards, Editions and Originals) or ATC (Artist Trading Cards) are miniature works of art. There are only two rules - the size of the cards must be 2.5 × 3.5 inches (64 mm × 89 mm) and they must be made using traditional techniques.

What should I do for joining the club?
Just hit the join button and let me review your art skills : ) You do not need to add links to your pictures, I'll take a look at your whole gallery searching for traditional pieces.

I've send my joining request several days ago. Why is decission taking so long?
It usually doesn't take more then two weeks, please be patient with me! I am organizing this club in my free time which can be really short sometimes.

How do you choose new members?
We're seeking for those most talented. I look on artist's traditional pictures, if artworks are coloured and with background, looking at the level of details, shading, structures and knowledge of animal anatomy. Our quality standarts are quite high so not everyone is accepted.

It seems to me that you are accepting only popular artists. Is it true?
Noway! I do not care about artist's name, pageviews, number of DDs or whatever you mean. You can find almost any kind of artists among our members - newbies, long-time dA members, popular or not so popular artists.

My joining request was denied. When is a good time to request again?
There is no given time. Simply do it when you think you made a nice progress with your art and you have at least 10 new pictures in your gallery. I would also recommend to wait maybe a half year before another request. Making visible progress takes some time : )


PERSONAL AND CHARACTER INFO

Can I have more than one character for our exchanges?
Yes! You can fill up the questionare for up to 10 characters. Your trading partner can choose any of these characters to draw.

How can I change information about me or my characters?
Simply send an email to aceo.furs.exchange@gmail.com or dA note to Dragarta and I'll send you your actual character information. You can update it and send back to me. Done!

I don't have any original characters, is it a problem?
Not at all. You can for example give us names of your favourite animal species or photos of your pets!


TRADING

Do I have to join the trade every month?
Nope! You can participate only those months you are willing to. If you don't answer the month's email, I'll consider you as not joining the month's exchange, and that's all.

How do you pair couples?
I am always pairing members by random. Actually I have a little desktop application for it and I am not cheating : ) This application is also very clever so you can't be paired with someone twice in the same year.

I am done with my part of the trade, where do I get my partner's address?
At first you should wait till your partner show you the finished card too. Then you can ask him to exchange addresses and send out your card.

I've already traded with few members but we did our exchanges outside of the club. How do I avoid to be paired with them here?
Simply send me a note or email with a list of these artists. You can also update this list anytime you want.

I have a personal problem with member of the club. May I avoid to be paired with him?
Yes, just let me know who it is and I'll anonymously remove him from the list of your potential partners. But please keep this up to three persons you do not want to trade with.


CREATING ACEOs

I am more like a digital artist, may I still be a part of the club?
In most cases no. The main purpose of our club is trading traditionaly done cards and to be a member you must prove your traditional skills first. So if you don't have enough of these examples in your gallery, we won't accept you.

Can I change the ACEO size or shape?
Please don't. The main meaning of ACEO cards is their exact size 2.5 × 3.5 inches (64 mm × 89 mm). Bigger doesn't mean better. Adding some protruding parts may be original, but have in mind, that most of us have special albums for our precious cards and different shape may not fit in. Always ask your partner first if you want to make any changes to standard trade.

I am not satisfied with quality of the card I received, what can I do?
You can send a complain to the club's email (aceo.furs.exchange@gmail.com) or dA note to Dragarta. If the complain is confirmed as valid, this problematic member will be anonymously notified about that and receive a complain.

Should I sign my name on the card?
Sure! Please sign and date all your cards on the back side. We want to know who made it for us  and when : )


OTHER

I don't want to upload finished ACEOs to devART, is it a problem?
Nope, you don't have to publish them here. But be sure to show your finished card to Dragarta before the end of the month.

I've uploaded finished card to the club, why can't I see it in the gallery?
Submissions to "Cards from actual year" folder must be approved first. This helps us to keep track of who has finished his card. So please be patient, we'll let it through as soon as possible.

May I recommend some new members to join?
Do it please! We're still searching for new talented members to join us. Simply send an email to aceo.furs.exchange@gmail.com or dA note to Dragarta with links to your favourite animal/anthro/furry artists. Or simply let them know about our club so they can join themselves.
